We strive to engage our community and our visitors through unique and interactive public programs for people of all ages. These include receptions for new exhibits and their artists, when possible; tours, lectures, panel discussions and seminars on topics ranging from literature and the visual arts to current affairs; and our Free Family Day events.

Fourth Annual Mother Daughter Art &Tea

Turning and Embellishment: A Demonstration

Saturday, October 11, 2014, 1 - 4 p.m.

Join artist Binh Pho as well as members of the Wilmington Area Woodturners Association (WAWA) for a demonstration of woodturning, airbrushing and piercing. Representing WAWA will be Jean Legwin, Omar Rashash, Bob Dougherty, Sharon Kissling, Sid Brooks, Skip Richardson and Byron Rosbrugh.

Demonstration Schedule

1 - 2 p.m. - Watch Binh Pho turn a wood log into a paper thin wall bowl using a large lathe.

2:30 - 4 p.m. - Binh Pho will demonstrate airbrushing and piercing while members of WAWA will turn various objects on mini lathes.

Free Family Day: Dia de los Muertos

Saturday, November 1 , 2014, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

A Mexican-American celebration honoring an important artist in history. Activities include: authentic Dia de los Muertos altar, family workshops to create papel picado (paper banners) and sugar skulls, authentic Mexican crafts, sampling of traditional breads & Mexican hot chocolate, face painting, Loteria (bingo), music, children's literature display, videos, authentic Mexican food, mural, Day of the Dead lecture, folk tales and storytelling, Traditional Dancing and Mariachi music and children's pinata.
