Join us for our annual Free Family Day at the Art Museum:
Dia de los Muertos
A Mexican-American celebration for all ages
Saturday, October 29, 2016 | 11 am – 3 pm

This annual event is fun for the whole family! Join us on Saturday, October 29th from 11 am – 3 pm as we turn the Art Museum into a cultural celebration in honor of Dia de los Muertos! This free family day is sure to be fun for the whole family.

Festivities include: altar in honor of Mexican artist Raúl Anguiano | family workshops to create papel picado (paper banners), sugar skulls, painted pumpkin skulls, dancing skeletons and calavera (skeleton) masks | Spanish/English translation game | sampling of traditional breads and Mexican hot chocolate | face painting | lotería (bingo) | music | children’s literature display | videos | authentic Mexican food by Fiesta Mexicana | Raúl Anguiano-inspired mural | Zumba dancing (11:15) | Criss Cross Mangosauce bilingual music and stories (11:30 and 12:45) | Day of the Dead lecture (12N) | roving Mariachi Nuevo Guadalajara (1) | traditional dancing with Ballet Folklorico St. James (2:15) | children’s piñata (2:50) | schedule subject to change
