Marc Chagall, one of the greatest 20th century artists, brought to the world fifteen major stained glass windows now located in Israel, France, Switzerland, England, Germany and the United States. Housed in churches, a synagogue, the United Nations and other institutions, he brought to life the art of stained glass that had not been seen for centuries. This lecture illuminates Chagall’s great artistry in collaboration with Charles Marq, the brilliant stained glass artisan from the atelier Jacques Simon, Reims, France. Vivian R. Jacobson’s book, Sharing Chagall: A Memoir, will be for sale ($15 each by cash/check) before and after the lecture. Call the Art Museum at 843.238.2510 for all registrations and questions.
