Opening Receptions

Many of our exhibitions open with a reception featuring the exhibiting artists or a guest lecturer. In addition to enjoying beverages and catered hors d’oeuvres, attendees have an opportunity to engage with the artists and their works during gallery talks. Most receptions are free for members and $10 for non-members.

Meet exhibiting artist Jocelyn Châteauvert on Thursday, October 12th as she shares her design process for the Art Museum’s exhibition it bloomed at night, a site-specific installation designed for the Museum’s Reception Gallery. In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the South Carolina Arts Commission (SCAC), the Art Museum is proud to highlight Châteauvert, one of the SCAC’s Craft Fellows.
