Suzanne’s formative years were spent in Washington, D.C. and the suburbs of nearby Maryland. From an early age she was a maker, using whatever was handy to create. Relocating to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, she utilized her creative skills as a mother of three children. As they grew, she earned an Associate in Arts degree in Graphic Design from Virginia Community College in Roanoke, VA, and subsequently, worked in the printing industry for eight years.

Since moving to South Carolina, Suzanne has found a new palette of subject matter—in its people, flora and fauna, architecture, seascapes and indigenous colors. While finishing her degree in Studio Arts at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC, her attentions have been directed toward ceramics: wheel throwing, hand building, and mold-making. At Coastal, she has studied ceramics under Dr. Elizabeth Keller and Prof. Jeremy Brooks.

Over the years, Suzanne’s photography, and more recently, her ceramics have been featured in juried exhibitions, in Virginia, as well as, South Carolina. Her award-winning photography is included in collections in the United States and several other countries. She is active locally in two Myrtle Beach Art Guilds, serving as Treasurer of the Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild. Currently, Suzanne’s work can be seen at the Seacoast Artists Gallery at Market Common in Myrtle Beach.
