The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum is the only art museum in Myrtle Beach and Horry and Georgetown counties. We view this entire area as "our community," and we take our responsibility to our community very seriously. We recognize that art museums are a place of adventure and discovery—a place to use the visual arts as a learning tool. Education programs at the Art Museum encourage and support artistic creativity, help preserve our diverse cultural heritage and make visual arts more widely available throughout our widespread community.
At the Art Museum, you can engage with artists, musicians, authors, historians, dancers, photographers, storytellers, teachers, travelers from near and far, neighbors, friends and family–as we all come together to explore exciting avenues that will provide learning experiences inspired and enhanced by the visual arts.
In an effort to stay connected with our community in situations when we are unable to open our doors to you, the Art Museum has launched virtual art education programs for students of all ages. We hope these programs will offer support to our parents, children and educators during challenging times while encouraging our community to stay positive by staying creative.
