Jef Sturm is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art where he received his degree in graphic design and fine art. Since then he has spent most of his lifetime drawing & painting and studying landscape painting theories. He demonstrates, exhibits and sells his work at Brookgreen Gardens, in Pawleys Island, The Seacoast Artists Guild in Myrtle Beach, The Gray Man Gallery in Pawleys Island, The Georgetown County Museum and The Georgetown Art Gallery in South Carolina. Working from his interpretations of altered and revised photographic compositions, Jef’s approach to painting has always been to capture the quality of light as it exists in a moment.

In addition to teaching privately, Jef teaches life drawing and painting for The Seacoast Artists Guild, Jef is an active member of the Waccamaw Neck Arts Alliance. WNAA.
