843.251.3877 Susan Duke |
A native of New York, Susan Duke currently resides in Myrtle Beach, SC, where she began her art career.
Susan entered into the arts working in oils and acrylics, but she was not happy with these mediums. Watercolors offered her a greater challenge. As a true watercolorist, Susan is bewitched by the spontaneous magical flow of watercolor and enjoys the freedom it provides. “Dancing on paper” is the emotion she feels when the watercolor paint makes contact with the paper. Her art is recognized by her use of light patterns, soft colors, and color blending. The Lowcountry environment is a great stimulation to paint. Her style depends on the use of realistic subjects in a loose flowing manner. Susan has been accepted in many judged and juried shows and has had several one woman shows. Her paintings are displayed in homes, businesses and professional offices in the United States, France, Saudi Arabia and England. Susan currently conducts watercolor classes through her studio. |
