Elizabeth Olson

Elizabeth Olson has been working in pastels for approximately 6 years. She has been a member of the Adirondack Pastel Society, Glens Falls, New York since 2020. She presented at the 8th Annual APS National Pastel show in Old Forge, New York, and the Crandall Library Pastel Show in Glens Falls, NY, both in 2022. After moving to North Carolina, she joined the Waterway Art Association located in Calabash, NC in 2023. At the Waterway Art Association’s Annual Spring Show held at the Sunset River Gallery in Calabash, NC she was awarded the Merit Award and the Bellinger Art Award for her painting “Tootsie”. She is an active member of the Columbus County Arts Council (Whiteville, NC) and has shown at the annual Brady Kendall Juried Art Exhibit. In 2023 she took Third Place for her pastel painting “Vanishing Past” and in 2024 Third Place for “Through the Eyes of Autism”. In October 2024, she and her sister Cynthia Blake, a watercolor artist from Sunset Beach, NC, presented a two-woman show entitled Agri-Coastal – A Personal View. This show was presented by the Columbus County Arts Council. Elizabeth will be teaching a continuing education course on pastels at Brunswick Community College starting this coming January 2025.
