Kyle Rembert Rogers
Born February 5, 1960
Died September 21, 2024
Kyle Rembert Rogers was a modern day recluse.
Ironically, he was also known as a very social
neighbor of the community. A former Marine who
continued to apply order in his simple self-designed
and maintained life. He rejected his definitions of
the main stream years ago eschewing dependency on
technical pursuits choosing to do without phones,
cars, televisions, but allowing himself the company
of radio talk shows, sports and a deep library of
readings, including Chomsky, Nietzsche, Sartre and
Thoreau.
His days were spent with his music, playing multi-
instruments, singing his original songs from his
extraordinary collection of journals filled with
writings, musings and song lyrics. He chose to not
be formally trained in music or art, embracing the
natural findings as he grew In his words, his
“organic empowerment via the elements of
authenticity in his art and his social life is quantified
every moment he is separate from the digital
culture.” His second love was his execution of
contemporary art of all genres, styles, colors, media,
sizes, on whatever material he could find, much of
which comes from the road side or cardboard from
retail store dumpsters. Tempera, oils, often house
paint allowed him unlimited areas of expression and
he experimented in all directions. When not
painting or blasting music from his studio living
room to the surprising pleasure of surrounding
residents, he was riding his trail bike, or waiting for
the waves to ride enjoying his other major love of
his 64 year -old life.
He did not play out, nor did he promote his
paintings, which he gives away to admirers,
preferring, maybe hoping that others would find
him. And it was so.
