Last Look: Palace by Celia Pearson
2010, Archival Inkjet Print on Cotton Rag Paper, 15.5″ x 35.5″
Profoundly touched by Vietnamese, Thai and Cambodian cultures she glimpsed during two trips to Southeast Asia, nationally recognized photographer Celia Pearson felt challenged to make a body of work that would express the intensity and vitality of these rich and layered cultures and her own complex experience of them. Her print, Palace, is shown above.
Based in photography, Celia Pearson’s Layerings joins traditional prints with photomontages, prints on rice paper and prints on silks. The exhibit will be on display at the Franklin G. Burroughs – Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum September 27 through December 30.
