|James paints in oils. His abstracted landscapes are large and dramatic. Each painting by James Calk features a strong sense of value supported by color.
He has studied under international master painters. James’ paintings allow the viewer to see the essence of the subject while providing imaginative interpretation. James has been honored by many awards, exhibited widely and is collected by private and corporate collectors:

James Calk is also a classically trained pianist, organist and composer. Calk has performed in many states, is married to artist Betsy Havens and lives in Georgetown, South Carolina.
