Simply put, I try to make images that are interesting and compelling; something that someone can live with now and continue to appreciate what the image has to offer over time.

My current work focuses on the creation of photographic images of common objects and familiar places, such as the surfaces of sidewalks and walls primarily found in urban settings. I think of these images as prompts; each providing opportunities of visual and conceptual discovery for both the artist and the viewer.

More specifically, then, the challenge for me is to create an image that provides the viewer opportunities to move beyond the recording of a surface of a section of a wall or a sidewalk and to move, more conceptually, towards the formation of an idea, a symbol, or a metaphor.

I find this to be fascinating.
