Styled and constructed fabrics permeate our lives every day in the form of clothing, accessories and décor. In my current body of work, fragmented views of ordinary and exotic garments and accessories evoke a sense of mystery. Who owned this? What were they doing? How did it get here, looking like this? A narrative emerges, similar to the process of piecing together the vaguely remembered scenes from a dream.
Since completing my master’s degree in Art Education in 1986 at the College of St. Rose, Albany, NY, I have explored several modalities of artistic expression including quilting, photography, collage, improvisational theatre and painting.
My work has been shown in regional, national and international exhibits including the Frederick R. Weisman Museum, Minneapolis, Minnesota; The Dairy Barn, Athens, Ohio; Gallery Elena, Taos, New Mexico, as well as numerous juried and judged shows held within the Capital District of New York State and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
