Terry began his artistic career producing watercolor paintings and was later professionally trained in the art of printmaking. He specializes in hand-colored copper plate etching. He enjoys experimenting and has been self-taught in several mediums. He has produced many paintings utilizing soft pastels, alcohol inks, oils and acrylics. He has become accomplished in pastel painting of pet portraits.
Terry has participated in many juried shows throughout the Southeast where he has won competitions as well as several purchase awards. He currently displays in several galleries in the Carolinas and was published in the Artist of the Carolinas Volume I.
After moving to Myrtle Beach in 2016, he quickly became involved with the arts community. He currently exhibits in several galleries in the Myrtle Beach area and is the only exhibiting printmaker producing etchings/aquatints, making his art very unique to the area.
He enjoys educating other artists and art enthusiasts about the exciting medium of printmaking and other art topics. He has given lectures at Seacoast Gallery, Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild. Terry has taught workshops on Intaglio printmaking, teaching other artists on the basic techniques of producing etchings/aquatints.
