I received my BFA from Barat College, in Lake Forest, Illinois and was a recipient of a scholarship award to attend the Art Institute of Chicago, where I received a degree in Art Education. My Masters of Fine Arts, in painting, was earned at Western Connecticut State University. I attended University of South Carolina in Conway during the time my family lived in Myrtle Beach while I worked on my art degree. I taught art at several locations in Myrtle Beach.
As well as teaching painting and drawing, I teach batik and silk painting/dying workshops. I have been fortunate to have taught workshops in Tennessee, and various art societies and schools in New England, South Carolina, Illinois and Tennessee and Italy.
I was part of the group of the Waccamaw Art Guild that helped move the Springmaid Villa to its current position.
