11:30 a.m. | Meet the Ocean Lakes team and learn about their iCare recycling program.
12N | Unveiling of Environmental Sculpture’s Octopus outdoor sculpture on the Museum’s front lawn. As a group, we’ll assist Jim Swaim with stuffing the Octopus with plastic. Stay connected via social media to find out the name of our new friend on Saturday, June 8th!
1 p.m. | Gallery talk with artist/activist Pam Longobardi followed by a book signing featuring her book Drifters.
2 p.m. | Photo Op with the Museum’s GenZ Curatorial Team in the Museum’s lobby.

Film Screening | A Plastic Ocean
A Plastic Ocean documents the newest science, proving how plastics, once they enter the oceans, break up into small particulates that enter the food chain where they attract toxins like a magnet. These toxins are stored in seafood’s fatty tissues, and eventually consumed by us.
