Library

The Museum’s reference Library on the first floor is a cozy refuge filled with art books and periodicals along with a collection of videos and DVDs about art.

The Library was gifted to the Museum by the Chapin Foundation in honor of its namesake, Simeon B. Chapin, one of Myrtle Beach’s early developers and philanthropists. Many of our volumes were donated by the Chapin Memorial Library and other generous donors, such as the family of Jules B. Gaylord and Drs. Morris and Adrienne Jones.

The Library is open during Museum hours. Occasionally it is closed when being used as a meeting site. You may confirm availability by calling the Museum, 843.238.2510.

Our book collection is catalogued through the Chapin Memorial Library. It is possible to do an online search for reference books in our collection on that library’s website in the Library Catalog: www.chapinlibrary.org.
