The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum, the Art Museum of Myrtle Beach, SC, is looking for a Communications and Community Engagement Coordinator. This is a full-time. The Communications and Community Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing communications plans for our arts exhibitions, educational programs, community outreach and fundraising events. We are looking for a creative, results-driven individual to work with our committed Board and staff to increase museum visibility, visitation and community engagement.
The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum is the only art museum in Horry and Georgetown Counties, South Carolina. The Art Museum opened 28 years ago in a restored historic 1927 Myrtle Beach “cottage.” The Museum has presented over 300 visual arts exhibitions in its 11 galleries: seven on the main floor of the Museum and four on the second floor. We have also touched the lives of over 5,000 area children with our 23-year-old KidsArt Program.

This is an exempt salaried position requiring availability during weekdays with occasional weekend, evening and holiday work. The Communications and Community Engagement Coordinator position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act and will not receive overtime pay for all hours worked in excess of a forty hour in seven-day work week.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We are looking for volunteers to be docents and front desk volunteers for 3.5 hour shifts especially on Wednesdays, Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Please call and speak with Shari Corley regarding your interests and availability.
